1.63

京兆米和尚令僧問仰山云：「今時還假悟也無？」仰山云：「悟即不無，爭奈落在第二頭。」又令僧問師云：「那箇究竟作麼生？」師云：「却須問他始得。」

Upādhyāya Mi of the capital city sent a monk to ask Yangshan, "These days, does one still depend on awakening?"
Yangshan said, "Awakening is not absent, but how can one help falling into the secondary head?"
He also sent a monk to ask the Master, "What is that ultimately like?"
The Master said, "One must turn back and ask him; only then will you get it."
