洞山上堂：「道無心合人，人無心合道，欲識個中意，一老一不老。」後僧舉問師：「如何是一老？」

Dongshan went up to the hall: "The Way has no mind to unite with people; people have no mind to unite with the Way. If you wish to understand the meaning within this: one is old, and one is not old." Later, a monk brought this up and asked the Master, "What is the 'one that is old'?"
