1.63

A monk asked, "Who is the one within the realm with hand on sword?" The Master said, "Caoshan." (Fadeng said alternatively: "You are not such a person.") The monk said, "Whom do you intend to kill?" The Master said, "As long as there is anything, I kill everything altogether." The monk said, "If you suddenly encounter your original parents, what then?" The Master said, "Why choose?" The monk said, "What will you do about yourself?" The Master said, "Who can do anything about me?" The monk said, "Why not kill yourself?" The Master said, "There is no place to lay a hand."
