A monk asked, "What is that which that teacher falls into?" The Master said, "A rustic entering a hamlet loses eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind altogether." The monk said, "What is the fall of following among kinds?" The Master said, "Not severing sounds and forms." He also said, "Not losing fragrances and flavours." The monk said, "What is that teacher?" The Master said, "The six sense bases." The monk said, "What is 'you also fall accordingly'?" The Master said, "Remaining." The monk said, "What remains?" The Master said, "One must not move, yet one does not leave sounds and forms."
