上堂云：「放爾橫說竪說，從朝至暮無人塞爾口；不放爾說，又作麼生？」

Ascending the hall, he said: "If I let you speak horizontally and vertically, from morning till evening no one will plug your mouth. But if I do not let you speak, what then?"
