舉：「佛問外道：『汝義以何為宗？』」師代外道云：「者老和尚我識得爾也。」「外道云：『以一切不受為宗。』」代佛云：「放過一著。」「佛云：『汝以一切不受為宗耶？』」代外道云：「者瞿曇，莫教失却問。」

[The Master] cited: "The Buddha asked a non-Buddhist: 'What does your doctrine take as its principle?'" The Master answered on behalf of the non-Buddhist, "This old upādhyāya, I recognize you!" "The non-Buddhist said: 'It takes non-acceptance of anything as its principle.'" On behalf of the Buddha, [the Master] said, "Letting a move pass." "The Buddha said: 'Do you take non-acceptance of anything as your principle?'" On behalf of the non-Buddhist, [the Master] said, "This Gautama, do not let him lose the question!"
