師因摘茶云：「摘茶辛苦，置將一問來。」無對。又云：「爾若道不得，且念上大人，更不相當，且順朱。」代云：「功不浪施。」代前語云：「勞而無功。」

Because of plucking tea, the Master said, "Plucking tea is hard labor. Pose a question!" There was no answer. He also said, "If you cannot speak, then recite Shang Da Ren; if it still does not correspond, then trace the red characters." Answering on their behalf, he said, "Effort is not spent in vain." Answering on behalf of the earlier speech, he said, "Toiling without achievement."
