或云：「爾諸人擔鉢囊行脚，不知有佛法；佛殿上蚩吻，却知有佛法。」代云：「佛殿裏裝香，三門外合掌。」

On another occasion he said, "You people carry your bowl-bags on pilgrimage and do not know there is the Buddha Dharma; yet the roof-ridge beasts on the Buddha hall know there is the Buddha Dharma." Answering on their behalf, he said, "Offering incense inside the Buddha hall, joining palms outside the triple gate."
