因開法堂門云：「作麼生是入門一句？」有僧云：「喏。」師云：「漆桶。」無對。代云：「掩面出去。」代後語云：「道著。」

Opening the Dharma hall door, he said, "What is the phrase upon entering the gate?" A monk said, "Yes." The master said, "Lacquer bucket!" There was no response. Answering on their behalf, he said, "Cover the face and go out." Answering the latter words on their behalf, he said, "You have hit it."
