師或云：「病遇因即瘥，爾道遇什麼因？道得底道看。」代云：「尚。」或云：「鉢盂匙筯與露柱相去多少？」代云：「分開好。」又云：「尋常得此便。」

The Master would sometimes say, "When sickness meets its cause, it is cured; what cause do you say it meets? Those who can speak, try to speak!" Answering on their behalf, he said, "Still." Or he would say, "How far apart are the alms bowl, spoon, and chopsticks from the exposed pillar?" Answering on their behalf, he said, "It is better to separate them." He also said, "Ordinarily one obtains this advantage."
