師因見僧看經，乃云：「看經須具看經眼，燈籠露柱一大藏教無欠少。」拈起拄杖云：「一大藏教總在拄杖頭上，何處見有一點來，展開去也。如是我聞十方國土廓周沙界。」

Seeing a monk reading a sūtra, the Master said, "Reading sūtras requires the eye that reads sūtras. In the lantern and the exposed pillar, the entire great Tripiṭaka lacks nothing at all." Holding up his staff, he said, "The entire great Tripiṭaka is right on the tip of this staff. Where do you see even a speck come forth? Spreading it wide: 'Thus have I heard: the lands of the ten directions vast and filling the worlds of sand.'"
