耽源上堂，師出眾作此○相，以手拓呈了，却叉手立。耽源以兩手相交作拳示之，師進前三步作女人拜。耽源點頭，師便禮拜。師浣衲次，耽源云：「正恁麼時作麼生？」師云：「正恁麼時向甚麼處見。」

Danyuan ascended the hall. The Master stepped out from the assembly, made this ○ figure, held it up with his hands to present it, and then stood with his hands folded. Danyuan crossed both hands to make fists and showed them. The Master advanced three steps and made a woman's bow. Danyuan nodded; the Master then made a full prostration. While the Master was washing his robe, Danyuan said, "Just at such a time, how is it?" The Master said, "Just at such a time, toward what place can it be seen?"
