師參巖頭，巖頭舉起拂子。師展坐具，巖頭拈拂子置背後。師將坐具搭肩上而出，巖頭云：「我不肯汝放，祇肯汝收。」

The Master called upon Yantou. Yantou held up his fly-whisk. The Master spread his niṣīdana. Yantou took the fly-whisk and placed it behind his back. The Master draped his niṣīdana over his shoulder and walked out. Yantou said, "I do not approve of your letting go; I only approve of your gathering in."
