Guishan brought up the story of Baizhang's wild fox and asked the Master. The Master said, "Huangbo often used this dynamic mechanism." Guishan said, "Would you say he was born with it, or attained it from someone else?" The Master said, "It was both received through his lineage transmission and an innate penetration of the fundamental source." Guishan said, "Just so, just so."
