師令僧取土添蓮盆，僧取土到，師云：「橋東取、橋西取？」云：「橋東取。」師云：「是真實，是虛妄？」

The master ordered a monk to fetch earth to add to the lotus pot. When the monk arrived with the earth, the master said, "Did you take it from east of the bridge or west of the bridge?" The monk said, "I took it from east of the bridge." The master said, "Is that real or false?"
