僧問：「如何是道人身？」師云：「舉步涉埃塵。」「如何得不涉埃塵去？」師云：「莫認守株人。」

A monk asked: "What is the person of the Way?" The Master said: "Raising his feet to tread through dust and dirt." "How does one manage not to tread through dust and dirt?" The Master said: "Do not mistake him for the man waiting by the tree stump."
