中邑纔見僧，拍手鼓唇云：「嗚㖿嗚㖿。」仰山到，從東過西立。邑云：「子甚處得此三昧？」云：「某甲從曹溪脫印學得來。」邑云：「如是。」山却問：「和尚甚處得此三昧？」邑云：「我從章敬處得來。」

As soon as Zhongyi saw a monk, he would clap his hands, smack his lips, and say: "Wuye, wuye!" When Yangshan arrived, he crossed from the east to the west and stood there. Zhongyi said: "Where did you obtain this samādhi?" Yangshan said: "I learned it by taking off the seal at Caoxi." Zhongyi said: "So it is." Yangshan then asked: "Where did the Venerable obtain this samādhi?" Zhongyi said: "I obtained it from Zhangjing."
