西禪到，保壽云：「甚處來？」云：「西山來。」壽云：「還見胡孫麼？」云：「見。」壽云：「作得箇甚伎倆？」云：「見某甲一箇，伎倆也做不得。」壽便打。

When Xichan arrived, Baoshou said: "Where have you come from?" Xichan said: "I have come from West Mountain." Baoshou said: "Did you see the monkey?" Xichan said: "I saw it." Baoshou said: "What kind of tricks could it do?" Xichan said: "Seeing me, it could not perform a single trick." Baoshou immediately struck him.
