「空中鳥跡，水內□蹤，茶中鹽味，色裏膠清，明眼衲僧，不能分別，作麼生析得晶然去？」代云：「可明。」

"A bird's trace in the sky, a [fish's] trail in the water, the taste of salt in tea, the clear glue in color—a clear-eyed patch-robed monk cannot distinguish them; how can you analyze them with bright clarity?" Replacing [the original words], he said, "It can be clarified."
