石鞏常張弓架箭，凡見僧來云：「看箭。」三平纔見，便擘開胸。鞏云：「三十年一張弓兩隻箭，只射得半箇聖人。」便拗折。

Shigong constantly drew his bow and fitted an arrow. Whenever he saw a monk coming, he would say: "Watch the arrow!" As soon as Sanping saw him, he tore open his chest. Shigong said: "For thirty years with one bow and two arrows, I have only shot half a sage." Then he snapped [the bow] in two.
