「優波毱多來看蓮花色比丘尼，纔入門觸撒油鉢，尼云：『佛在之日，六群比丘，甚是麁行，數來我舍，尚不觸此鉢；尊者是紹祖位之人，得恁麼麁行？』」代云：「已知錯怪。」

"Upagupta came to visit the bhikṣuṇī Utpalavarṇā. Just as he entered the gate, he bumped into and overturned an oil bowl. The nun said: 'When the Buddha was in the world, the group of six bhikṣus acted very crudely; they came to my house many times, yet never overturned this bowl. You, venerable one, are the person who continues the patriarchal seat; how can you act so crudely?'" Replacing [the original words], he said: "I already know that I was blamed by mistake."
