黑黧猫兒作用全，牙爪纖長勢力圓，毛頭涌出真師子，眼放毫光照大千。無邊寶藏能守護，有心蟲鼠解摧殘，分明上樹安身法，未曾開口𡖦甥前。

The black-brindled cat has complete function; / Its claws and teeth are slender and long, its power fully rounded. / From the tip of its fur springs forth a true lion; / Its eyes radiate beams of light illuminating the chiliocosm. / It can safeguard the boundless treasury; / It knows how to destroy scheming bugs and mice. / The method of climbing trees to preserve its body is plain and clear; / Yet it never opened its mouth [to teach it] before its nephew [the tiger].
