撥草占風辨正邪，先須拈却眼中沙，舉頭若味天皇餅，虛心難喫趙州茶。南泉無語歸方丈，靈雲有頌悟桃花，從頭為我雌黃出，要見叢林正作家。

Parting the grass and reading the wind to distinguish orthodox and heterodox, / You must first remove the sand from your eyes. / If on raising your head you relish Tianhuang's cake, / With a hollow mind it is hard to drink Zhaozhou's tea. / Nanquan without a word returned to the abbot's room; / Lingyun had a verse realizing the peach blossoms. / Set it all straight for me from the beginning, / If you wish to see a true adept of the monastic groves.
