禪外無餘事，乘春秀水行，就予求半偈，前去慰勞生。日出雲霞散，風和草木榮，何須重話會，法法本圓成。

Beyond Chan there are no other concerns; / taking advantage of spring, you travel along the beautiful waters. / Coming to me, you ask for half a gāthā, / to go forth and bring comfort to this toiling life. / The sun emerges and the cloudy mists disperse; / the wind is gentle and the plants and trees flourish. / What need is there to discuss it all again? / Dharma by Dharma is fundamentally complete and realized.
