上堂：「僧堂覰破香積厨，鴟𩾲咬殺佛殿脊。明明向道，尚乃不會，豈況蓋覆將來。」擊禪床，下座。

Ascending the hall, he said: “The saṅgha hall sees through the fragrant kitchen; the owl bites to death the ridge of the Buddha hall. It has been clearly explained to you, yet you still do not understand; how much less if it were covered over!” Striking the Chan seat, he descended from the seat.
