1.60

上堂，云：「達磨西來十萬里，少林面壁八九年，唯有神光知此意，默然三拜不虛傳。後代兒孫忘正覺，棄本逐末尚邪言，直到臘月三十日，一身冤債入黃泉。」以拂子擊禪床，下座。

Ascending the hall, [the Master] said: / "Bodhidharma came from the west across a hundred thousand li; / Facing the wall at Shaolin for eight or nine years. / Only Shenguang understood this intention; / His three silent bows were not passed down in vain. / Later descendants forget the right awakening, / Abandoning the root to chase branches and valuing false words; / When the thirtieth day of the twelfth month arrives, / A body full of karmic debts enters the Yellow Springs." / Striking the Chan seat with his fly-whisk, he descended from the seat.
