上堂，僧問：「如何是不動尊？」師云：「大眾齊著力。」僧云：「與麼則香燈不絕去也。」師云：「且喜勿交涉。」師乃云：「一切法皆是佛法，佛殿對三門，僧堂對厨庫。若也會得，擔取鉢盂拄杖，一任天下橫行；若也不會，更且面壁。」

Ascending the hall, a monk asked: "What is the Immovable Honored One?" The master said: "The great assembly exerts strength together." The monk said: "If so, then incense and lamps will continue without end." The master said: "Fortunately, it has nothing to do with it." The master then said: "All phenomena are the Buddha-Dharma: the Buddha hall faces the triple gate; the monks' hall faces the kitchen-storehouse. If you can understand, shoulder your almsbowl and staff, and roam freely across the realm at will; if you do not understand, face the wall a while longer."
