上堂云：「日可冷，月可熱，眾魔不能壞真說。大眾！作麼生是真說？潑狼潑賴。若信不及，白雲為儞道，一要眾人會，二要龍神知。」乃拈起法衣云：「者箇真紅色，剛然道是緋。」

Ascending the hall, he said: "'The sun may grow cold, the moon may grow hot, but the hordes of Māra cannot destroy the true preaching.' Great assembly! What is the true preaching? Completely reckless and unconstrained! If you cannot reach complete faith, Baiyun will say it for you: First, all of you must understand; second, the dragons and spirits must know." He then held up his Dharma robe and said, "This is truly red, yet they insist on calling it crimson!"
