白眾出隊上堂云：「明日匹馬單槍為國出戰，得勝回戈之日滿路歌謠。大眾！作麼生是歌謠一曲？」乃云：「囉邏哩囉邏哩。還有人和得麼？」良久云：「鴛鴦繡了從君看，莫把金針度與人。」

Announcing to the assembly that he was going out on an excursion, [the Master] ascended the hall and said: "Tomorrow, a single horse and a single spear will ride out to battle for the country; on the day of turning back the spears in victory, songs and ballads will fill the road. Assembly! What is this single tune of a song?" Then he said: "Luoluoli, luoluoli. Is there still anyone who can harmonize?" After a long pause, he said: "Let him look once the mandarin ducks are embroidered, but do not pass the golden needle to anyone."
