上堂，舉：「寶壽作街坊時，見兩人相諍，一人以手打一拳云：『儞得恁無面目。』寶壽因而得入。若人於此知落處，可謂公辦私辦。大眾！聽取一頌：甚妙也甚妙，於此知性命，擗鼻與一拳，當時便打正。」

Ascending the hall, he cited: "When Baoshou was a market supervisor, he saw two men quarreling; one struck the other with a fist, saying, 'How can you be so shameless!' Baoshou thereby attained entry. If a person knows the outcome here, it can be said that public and private are both settled. Assembly! Listen to a verse: Exceedingly wondrous, exceedingly wondrous! / Herein one knows nature and life; / Giving a fist directly to the nose, / Right at that moment, he struck true."
