1.90

上堂，僧問：「見來不采時如何？」師云：「各自守疆界。」進云：「見來却采時如何？」師云：「看築著儞鼻孔。」學云：「謝師答話。」師云：「放。」乃云：「古人道：『如何是不動尊？朝到西天暮歸唐土。』大眾！莫是動而不動、不動而動麼？只者便是白雲見處。」

Ascending the hall, a monk asked, "When one appears and one pays it no heed, what then?" The Master said, "Each guards their own territory." The monk further asked, "When one appears and one indeed pays it heed, what then?" The Master said, "Look out, or it will strike your nostrils!" The student said, "Thank you, Master, for answering my question." The Master said, "Let go." He then said: "An ancient said, 'What is the Immovable Honoured One? In the morning reaching India, in the evening returning to the Tang land.' Assembly! Could it be that he moves and yet does not move, does not move and yet moves? Just this is Baiyun's view."
