上堂云：「六祖能大師，是箇大癡漢，後代兒孫多，展轉生惑亂。子細好思量，白雲不著便。」

Ascending the hall, he said: / "The Sixth Patriarch, Great Master Neng, / Was a greatly foolish fellow. / Later descendants are many, / Generating confusion turn by turn. / Consider it carefully: / Baiyun finds no foothold."
