2.76

上堂云：「前迴底，今日使不著；今日底，後次使不著。使不著，說不著，重遭撲，自古至如今，誰錯誰不錯？忽有箇出來道：『白雲不是今日錯也。』」自云：「錯錯。」下座。

Ascending the hall, he said, "What was used before cannot be used today; what is used today cannot be used next time. Unable to be used, unable to be said, one is thrown down again and again. From antiquity to the present, who was wrong and who was not wrong? If suddenly someone came forth and said, 'Baiyun is not wrong only today,'" he said himself, "Wrong, wrong!" He descended the seat.
