上堂云：「昨日鬧鬨鬨，今朝靜悄悄，子規枝上啼，蝦蟇鑽入草，好箇寒食天，辜負白雲老。」

Ascending the hall, he said: "Yesterday was noisy and clamorous; / This morning is quiet and still. / The cuckoo cries upon the branch; / The toad burrows into the grass. / A fine Cold Food festival day— / Letting down old Baiyun!"
