Ascending the hall, after questions and answers were concluded, he said: "When shining on the eyes, it is like a thousand suns; the myriad forms cannot escape their shadows and forms. Ordinary people merely have never observed it; why belittle yourselves and retreat in discouragement?" The Master held up his staff and said: "Holding fast the world without leaking a single hair—can it still be observed, or not? Therefore Great Master Yunmen said: 'Even if heaven, earth, and the great world are without the slightest fault,' this is merely a turning phrase; not seeing a single form is still only a half-presentation. Even reaching such a state, you must further know that there is a time of full presentation. Venerables, if Cuifeng were to present it fully, all the people across the great earth would have to hold their tongues; if a single path is opened, it becomes all the more unbearable." Using his staff, he chased them all down at once.
