舉：「米胡問僧：『近離甚處？』僧云：『藥山。』米云：『藥山近日如何？』僧云：『大似頑石一般。』米云：『得恁麼鄭重。』僧云：『也無提撥處。』米云：『非但藥山，米胡亦恁麼。』僧近前顧視而立，米云：『看看，頑石動也。』其僧便出。」師拈云：「米胡也縱奪可觀，爭奈死而不弔。」

He brought up: "Mihu asked a monk: 'Where have you recently left?' The monk said: 'Yaoshan.' Mi said: 'How has Yaoshan been recently?' The monk said: 'Much like a stubborn rock.' Mi said: 'To be so weighty and earnest!' The monk said: 'There is also nowhere to get leverage.' Mi said: 'Not only Yaoshan—Mihu is also like this.' The monk came close, looked around, and stood. Mi said: 'Look, look, the stubborn rock is moving!' The monk then walked out." The Master commented: "Mihu's letting go and taking away was also noteworthy, but what can be done about dying without anyone mourning?"
