舉：「鏡清於僧堂前，自擊鍾子云：『玄沙道底，玄沙道底。』時有僧出來云：『玄沙道什麼？』鏡清作一圓相，僧云：『若不久參，爭知恁麼。』清云：『還我草鞋錢來。』」師拈云：「洎被打破蔡州。」

He brought up: "In front of the monks' hall, Jingqing struck the bell himself and said: 'What Xuansha said! What Xuansha said!' At that time a monk came out and said: 'What did Xuansha say?' Jingqing drew a circle. The monk said: 'If not for long practice, how could one know it is like this?' Qing said: 'Give me back the money for my straw sandals!'" The Master commented: "[He] was almost breached like Caizhou."
