上堂云：「摩竭掩室，計校未成；毘耶杜辭，伎倆俱盡。還有人檢點得者兩個老漢出頭不得處麼？直饒覷透，更有箇漢礙著。」以拄杖擊繩床一下，便下座。

Ascending the hall, he said: "Shutting the chamber in Magadha: calculations could not succeed; stopping speech at Vaiśālī: clever skills were completely exhausted. Is there still someone who can check where these two old fellows could not stick their heads out? Even if you see through them completely, there is still another fellow obstructing you." Striking the rope-seat once with his staff, he then stepped down from the seat.
