舉：「僧問趙州：『道人相見時如何？』州云：『呈漆器。』」師云：「諸禪德！還有識趙州底麼？出來相共商量；若未能辯明，大好從頭舉，與儞點破，四九三十六收。」

He raised: "A monk asked Zhaozhou, 'How is it when people of the Way meet each other?' Zhou said, 'Present lacquerware.'" The Master said, "Dharma-fellows of Chan! Is there still anyone who knows Zhaozhou? Come forth together to discuss it; if you are not yet able to distinguish it clearly, it would be very good to raise it from the beginning, and I will point it out for you: four nines make thirty-six gathered in."
