2.66

上堂云：「龍泉與刀斧同鐵，利鈍懸殊；駑駘與驥馬同途，遲速有異。酌然酌然，一出一入，半合半開，平展之流，試辯緇素。」

Ascending the hall, the Master said, “The Longquan sword and the axe share the same iron, yet sharpness and dullness are far apart; an inferior nag and a thoroughbred share the same road, yet slowness and speed differ. Clearly, distinctly! Coming out once and entering once, half closed and half open: those of the level-spread stream, try to distinguish black from white!”
