2.72

上堂云：「春山疊亂青，春水漾虛碧，寥寥天地間，獨立望何極？」便下座，却顧謂侍者云：「適來有人看方丈麼？」云：「有。」師云：「作賊人心虛。」

Ascending the hall, the Master said, “Spring mountains layer disorderly greens; spring waters ripple in empty azure. Desolate between heaven and earth, standing alone, what limit to the gaze?” Then he stepped down from the seat, looked back, and said to the attendant, “Did someone look into the abbot’s quarters just now?” The attendant said, “Yes.” The Master said, “A thief’s heart is anxious.”
