2.90

一日上堂，良久云：「大施門開無擁塞，忽然有箇衲子出來，雪竇倒退八百。何以？臨危不悚人。」便下座。

One day he ascended the hall, and after a long pause said: "The gate of great giving is open without blockage. If suddenly a patch-robed monk were to step forward, Xuedou would fall back eight hundred [paces]. Why so? In the face of danger, do not frighten people." Then he stepped down from his seat.
