3.46

舉：「巴陵示眾，祖師道：『不是風動，不是幡動。』既不是幡風，向什麼處著？有人與祖師作主，出來與巴陵相見。」師云：「雪竇道：風動幡動既是風幡，向甚處著？有人與巴陵作主，亦出來與雪竇相見。」

He cited: "Baling addressed the assembly: 'The Patriarch said: "It is not the wind moving, it is not the banner moving." Since it is neither banner nor wind, where does one place it? If anyone can take charge for the Patriarch, come forth and meet Baling.'" The Master said, "Xuedou says: 'Wind moves, banner moves—since it is wind and banner, where does one place it? If anyone can take charge for Baling, also come forth and meet Xuedou!'"
