上堂云：「若道得隔身句，知儞是箇了事人；忽若總道不得，我也知儞親。」代云：「猛虎不食其子。」
Ascending the hall, he said: "If you can utter the phrase that crosses bodies, I know you are a person of attainment; if you are completely unable to speak, I also know your intimacy." On [their] behalf he said: "A fierce tiger does not eat its cubs."
