4.86

師一日與數僧遊山次，見牯牛舉頭，師問：「牯牛舉頭作什麼？」僧云：「怕和尚穿却。」師不肯，自云：「看入草底。」

One day the master was wandering in the mountains with several monks and saw an ox raise its head. The master asked: "Why is the ox raising its head?" A monk said: "Afraid that the upādhyāya will pierce [its nose]." The master did not approve and said himself: "Looking at the one going into the grass."
