竿木隨身老作家，逢場作戲更難加，謾人謾我無人會，
水長船高眼裏沙。

With a bamboo pole at hand, he is an old adept;
Acting according to the scene, nothing can surpass him.
Deceiving others, deceiving myself—no one understands;
When the water rises the boat climbs, yet sand gets in the eye.
