5.216

本是釣魚船上客，偶除鬚髮著袈裟，祖佛位中留不得，
夜來依舊宿蘆華。

Originally a guest aboard a fishing boat,
He casually shaved hair and beard and donned the kāṣāya.
He could not be detained in the ranks of patriarchs and Buddhas;
Come nightfall, he still lodges amidst reed blossoms as before.
