5.50

曹溪流，非止水，一點忽來，千波自起。直須釣鼇釣鯨，
莫問得皮得髓。君不見，石頭有言兮，
聖不慕他，靈不在已。成禪成禪，誰家之子。

The flow of Caoxi is no stagnant water;
A single drop suddenly arrives, and a thousand waves naturally rise.
You must hook the giant turtle and angle the whale directly;
Do not ask about attaining the skin or attaining the marrow.
Do you not see that Shitou had a saying:
'The sage does not admire others; the numinous does not reside in oneself.'
