大明一寸光，腐草一何假，人命呼吸間，誠哉是言也。
呼之曾已休，吸之尚未舍，寄問諸苦源，來者不來者。

Great brightness shines for an inch of light; / What need has it to rely on rotting grass? / Human life exists within a single breath; / Truly, how genuine are these words! / The out-breath has already ceased, / The in-breath is not yet surrendered. / I send a question to the source of all suffering: / Do you come, or do you not come?
