6.309

淮之要衝，真之會府，中列梵𢋇，
居我禪祖。參徒駢羅，慧敏千櫓，
爰構鯨音，息彼輪苦。峻橫崇臺，
金飛碧回，斯門屢掩，向人或開。
希兮微兮，作延乍催，先聞未及，
後時不來。增悲遐宣，無困天理，
帶識萬端，警悟齊起。遵晦陟明，
其母得子，塵塵訪誰，剎剎問己。
大緣斯成，大功不宰，君奉禹湯，
臣仰元凱。碑勒紺園，銘寡文彩，
庶其妙峯，永聳滄海。

At the vital crossroads of the Huai, the gathering prefecture of Zhen,
A Brahma monastery stands in their midst,
Where our Chan ancestor resides.
Students assemble in ranks;
Huimin's thousand sweeps
Thereupon construct the sound of the whale,
Bringing an end to the suffering of that wheel.
A lofty platform rises precipitously,
Gold flies and jasper revolves;
This gate is closed repeatedly,
Yet to men it is sometimes opened.
So rarefied, so subtle,
Now prolonged, now rushed;
Heard beforehand, it cannot be overtaken;
Falling behind, it does not arrive.
Deepening compassion and widely proclaiming,
It does not burden Heavenly Principle;
Carrying the myriad facets of consciousness,
Alertness and awakening arise together.
Following darkness to ascend toward light,
Like a mother gaining her child.
Whom would you seek in dust upon dust?
Question yourself in kṣetra upon kṣetra.
The great condition is thus fulfilled,
The great achievement does not master.
The ruler reveres Yu and Tang;
The minister looks up to the Prime Talents.
The stele is engraved in the dark-blue garden,
The inscription lacks literary embellishment;
May its wondrous peak
Forever tower over the vast ocean!
